New Zealand Modern School of Music Counties Coromandel has been operating in this area for approximately 40 years. We have teachers in most schools in the area, enabling children to have their music lessons during school time. Instruments available are keyboard, piano – classical and modern - guitar, flute, saxophone, clarinet, recorder, ukulele and theory.
We provide an examination system and competitions. Have fun learning music!
NZMSM encourages creativity and improvisation in practical work. We believe that a comprehensive study of the theory of music benefits the students. Theory and practical examinations are held nationwide and many districts hold competitions and students perform for their community. Most children begin at about six years old and many adults also join to experience the joy of music.
