Friday, December 2, marked the launch of the 2012 Honda CR-Z sports tourer at the Counties Inn, Pukehohe. Local Honda principal dealer, Kerry Brocas, along with Murray Selby, General Manager, Honda New Zealand Limited, introduced a lively, packed house, to a beguilingly bronze CR-Z. Kerry has been one of the first local Honda dealers lucky enough to present a ‘live’ CR-Z to his client base. The interest in the car was exceptional as dozens of fascinated onlookers took the opportunity to examine it in detail.
While Kerry led off the presentation with a brief description of the CR-Z, Murray took the opportunity to outline some of the unique features embedded within the vehicle, including the now standard traction and stabilisation control systems and the awesome IMA – Integrated Motor Assist package.
As an extra, Kerry decided to turn the event into Honda Pukekohe’s Christmas celebration with elocal editor ‘MJ’ Winckel in the company of fellow jazz and blues artists, entertaining until midnight. An added bonus in the form of four well patronised driving simulators were on hand, running the Pukekohe and Bathhurst circuits. I won’t reveal the identity of the worst driver…. but it’s just as well he works for Honda and can afford to replace the car he totalled exiting the back straight at Pukekohe…! (simulated of course)
A great night had by all? You betcha…!
