Homesit NZ was started in 1990, by Liz Bradley, With Bob Kerridge, from SPCA, being an original satisfied client. Over the years the company has been split down into business areas, with Greater Auckland & Christchurch currently being the most active. These areas are owned & operated by different people, all under the Homesit name. My name is Jill Barnes & I own & operate the South Auckland business area, which runs from Mangere Bridge down to Drury & across to Clevedon in one direction & the airport on the other side. It is quite a diverse area taking in the Botanical Gardens, parks, wineries & craft areas & of course the usual shopping facilities. The southern areas of Auckland city are easily accessible by the motorway system & also in some cases by train. With the mixture of lifestyle blocks & residential housing homesitting requirements can be quite varied. I also own the Franklin area, which is much more rural, with larger lifestyle blocks & a greater variety of domestic & farm animals.
I have a database of experienced sitters & match them with the clients who are going away & have pets that need care. The sitters come & live in your home, so life for any pets goes on much as usual & the home is occupied. You meet with the sitter beforehand & if both of you are happy with the pet/home minding situation then I send out the confirmation contract & payment details. Payment is made to me before the sit commences. All sitters have MOJ police checks done on them.
