BLOG QUESTION
Police Ten7, Cops, Kids Behind Bars, CAUGHT. These are just a few of those TV shows that are constantly showing images of drunk and drugged up teens running around at all hours of the night and racing in cars. What do you think of this? Is this cool? Is it funny? What do you think of young children seeing this? Is it a turn off of this behaviour or does it encourage it? Have you ever done this? Do you regret it?
I THINK
It is most definitely NOT cool! In my book I think the way those teens act on national television is embarrassing, it just makes them look like immature tweens who think it's somehow cool and attractive to run around trespassing, stealing cars and vomiting on the side of the road. It’s not funny to disrespect police men/women because if you need them you’d be the first person to want them. I just think the way they portray themselves is an embarrassment to all us teens who can actually have a drink socially and not be such a nutter as to completely lose all our dignity. It’s tacky and unnecessary and I just don’t think it’s very classy to say “let’s get drunk, I’m mean” - look where that gets you. All those things we hear about alcohol causing teen deaths and injury. I just think you don’t need to get drunk to have a good time, or do drugs for that matter. We spend so long trying to make ourselves look the best we can but then we're prepared to suck smoke in and drink liquids that make us perform like idiots - craziness. I’m not trying to sound like your mum, it’s just…I don’t see the appeal.
FASHION
PANTS, and when I say pants I don’t just mean trackies or jeans, I mean pants, ie pant material. You can find them at Glassons and Just Jeans, and they are so popular at the moment. Made out of cotton and elastic and fitted really nicely. They often have reinforcing sewing around the knees and lots of pockets, zips, buttons and general detailing along the sides. They come in lots of colours, but most popular are creamy beige, khaki, navy and plain (no rips) black. They are super cute as they look mature and classy when paired with a floaty top and tailored blazer. GOOD investment.
BEATS
This month's hit artist is ADELE. Although rumoured to have been paying thousands visiting a top US voice coach to keep her million dollar voice, she’s still going strong with her new song ‘Someone like you’. It’s my absolute favourite song at the moment. I have listened to it about 100 times on my iPod and it just doesn’t get old. Her voice has a unique quality to it and it’s such a soothing, deep and empowering song. The music video is also very good, telling the story of the lyrics. If you haven’t already heard it, give it a listen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=il-NdjTtUAI but I warn you, it is a VERY addictive song.
MOVIES
Bit late on the uptake but I have only just discovered what all the fuss of Twilight was about. I now see why the fans acted the crazy way they did. I have only just - last week - watched all three movies consecutively and truly experienced the Twilight rage. The films are AMAZING, much better than the tweeny love stories they’ve been made out to be. It’s both lovely and terrifying. Both happy and sad and of course there's both Edward and Jacob. The films follow the life of ordinary human girl Bella and her love for a vampire and friendship with a werewolf and everything in between. With battles to protect her and scenes of destruction and running, the films have you on the edge of your seat. If you can’t beat 'em, join 'em, I say - become a Twihard! –Team Edward all the way!
