Gossip Girl

Well, here we are. It seems like only a moment ago that I started 2011, started year 12 and started this Gossip Girl column. It’s been a heck of a year with ups and downs and rounds and rounds. When I didn’t have homework I had sports; when I didn’t have sports I was travelling somewhere and in between all this I was managing my social life, attempting to get my licence, squeezing in exercise and occasionally I would be given a moment to just breathe. But now we're here - the home straight. Exams are done, and Christmas is on its way. You can now relax. What have you guys got planned for summer holidays? Where are the hotspots - and what do you want from Santa?

Finally, I’m here. The end of the road. The start of summer. The break that half the country's teens have been anticipating since January 30th. For me it's been a busy year, with a big step up in school work and starting to form ideas around my career - then acting on it! I’m looking forward to the sleep-ins, the slow waking and late brekkies. My skin is going to get some much needed vitamin D over the next two months as I will be spending Christmas with my family at the beach then having friends round to tent for New Year. I’m also heading up north with family friends, and near the end of January I might fit in a casual job to give my bank account some attention!! I would just like to take this moment to tell you little mini-GGs that I have loved you supporting me in this and I’m glad we have been able to share our thoughts on all things teen together. With the summer holidays come a lot of spare time and a lot of fun. No doubt you will be going to events, parties, bbqs and so on, so I have sourced the perfect outfit to suit all body shapes and keep you cool and comfy as well. Ok, here it is: Take a pair of high top Chuck Taylors or cut summer sandals. Pop on a long flowy maxi skirt and a crop top, then chuck on a tailored denim jacket or tie a loose cardie around your shoulders. Wa-la! No tight jeans, no sweaty shirts - just cool, calm and collected. The must-have summer outfit in my eyes. (Also for you shorties - it makes you look tall!! And tall people, they suit you all the same). I have been dying to write about beats this month as I have so much to tell you all, so I’m just going to spill it all out with some links and you can explore yourself!! Ok, Ed Sheeran. He is a Ron Weasley lookalike with an AMAZING voice and catchy mellow songs. My favourite is Lego House: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4BLVznuWnU Also One Direction have brought out their new song ‘Gotta be you’ and you can catch some cool interviews on the extra-factor. USAXFactor continues and the battle for the next big thing is tight, with my money on Drew, Rachel or Marcus. Other cool songs to YouTube are 'Skinny love', 'Fix you' (Drew’s version) and 'Promises' by Andian.
Movies
Shhhh - but on my first week of study leave I had a bit of a DVD party, getting out a bag of rom-coms from the store, and had a movie marathon. My favourite was one called ‘My Sassy Girl’. It is a 2008 film starring Elisha Cuthbert and Jesse Bradford as likeable characters. Elisha plays a crazy and wild free spirit living life on the edge, and Jesse plays the opposite, a straight-laced, head screwed on right, young male with his life planned out for him. When the two meet in an odd way they fall helplessly in love with each other's differences and teach one another how to live and how to love. A cutesy feel-good with deeper moments to match. 10/10 PG 92minutes: enjoy ?
Celebrities
How could I not start off by mentioning the Justin Bieber baby scandal. So much controversy and hype was caused around this, making the pop star's life hell, and girlfriend Selena's equally difficult. Despite the ridiculous allegation, the pair seem young and in love and enjoyed their experience at the Europe MTV awards.
The new Twilight saga ‘Breaking Dawn’ is causing suspense with it being released in two parts.
To sign off I’m just going to list my favourite celebrities to stalk: Mila Kunis (gorgeous), Francisco Lachwoski (babe!) and my street fashion idol: Alexa Chung.
