Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a gentle therapy derived from osteopathy; however there is no manipulation involved with BCST. It is gentle and works with the body’s ability to reorganise and heal itself, making it a great therapy for people of all ages.
BCST after Dental Work
Some types of dental work require you to keep your mouth wide open for long periods of time. This can leave the jaw and facial muscles sore and out of balance. BCST can aid these muscles to heal and reorganise quickly, reducing the chances of jaw strains occurring.
When local anaesthetic is used, it can get trapped within the facial tissue, affecting the nerve supply and tissue recovery. BCST works to increase blood supply to the area by relieving stresses and strains. This allows the anaesthetic to be eliminated quickly and efficiently by the body. BCST also helps to calm a person’s nervous system after major dental procedures.
If you have had old amalgam filling replaced with white filling, a BCST session can aid your body to eliminate any of the toxins left from the amalgam by working with the liver and circulation.
Dental Issues
BCST works very well with a variety of other dental issues such as jaw grinding, clicking jaws and accidents involving the teeth. If left untreated, it’s not uncommon for hearing issues such as tinnitus or repeated ear infections to occur.
Orthodontic treatment, while giving positive changes to teeth alignment, can result in a variety of changes to the bones and muscles of the face and jaw. Any trauma resulting from the tightening of the braces and realignment of the teeth can be effectively released through BCST.
