Join MJ as he chats to Professor Robin Wakelin, about amongst other things, science and common sense and the evolution of science over the last few years.
Dr Robin Wakeling is a microbiologist and biodeterioration expert. Holding a PhD in fungal ecology from the University of Waikato, he was a research scientist at New Zealand Forest Research Institute for 15 years. Since 2005, he has operated a private consultancy specialising in microbial building forensics. He has an interest in the philosophy of science, in particular the limitations of materialist reductionism and concomitant dogmas that are holding back advances in our understanding of the nature of reality.
