On Saturday 17th March, Pukekohe Christian School will hold their main fundraiser for the year – their popular annual gala. Commencing at 8.30 with the garage sale and finishing at 1.30, the day offers fantastic bargains, food and fun for everyone in the family.
Located on Yates Road (past the railway station and behind the race course), PCS is a privately-funded Year 1 – 13 school which provides a safe, secure environment and an education from a Christian worldview. This is reflected in the gala, when students and parents come together every year to put on this event for our community.
There’s plenty of action for kids of all ages from motor-bike rides and slip and slide (bring your togs and towel!) to photo booths, face- and nail painting. Other activities include a flying carpet, horizontal bungee, fire trailer display unit, henna and hairspray. For the littlies you will also find a lucky dip and sweets as well as Pioneer wooden toys,
On the other side of the school, bargain hunters will find what they are looking for and more. In the classrooms you will find a gigantic garage sale offering all manner of items: kids’ toys, furniture, clothes, books and various other bric-a-brac.
After all the action, indulge yourself at one of the many food stalls or take a quiet seat in our café. When it comes to lunchtime, there is plenty to choose from at our wide range of international stalls (Asian, pancakes, butter chicken, Dutch doughnuts and more) or stick with the kiwi classics – hot chips or barbecued sausages. Alternatively, take home fresh produce for dinner and something from the cake stall for dessert.
Thanks to our generous sponsors, running throughout the day there are raffles and auctions - both live and silent. There is a huge variety to bid on.
While all of this is happening, if you get the chance to have a break, come on over to the entertainment area to watch cheerleaders, Drapers Dance Academy, our school choir and Heart of Worship.
So bring the kids along for a great family day out that everyone is sure to enjoy.
