Takanini library and community hub a step closer
We recently turned the sod on the site of the new library and community hub to be built in Takanini.
The new facility is being constructed within stage two of the Takanini Village project and will be located in Arion Road. Council has leased a building from the developers but will be responsible for its fit out.
This is an exciting development as there has long been a desire for a facility in the area, particularly with the growing residential community so we are very proud to see it progressing.
The new facility is expected to open in early 2020.
Have you say on the interior concept plans
Concept plans for the internal fit out of the building and some of the services that could be provided have been released.
They have been informed by input from the community and stakeholders gathered over the past nine months – now we want to know what you think of the proposals.
The plans can be viewed at the Sir Edmund Papakura Library and the Papakura Service Centre (35 Coles Cres). You can also view them online at www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/haveyoursay and provide feedback.
Or come by one of two drop-in sessions at Takanini Hall (8 Takanini Road)
• 1 September, 1-4pm
• 6 September, 6.15pm-8.15pm
Feedback closes 21 September.

Celebrating our volunteers
It was a great night as we celebrated Papakura’s unsung heroes – our volunteers, with more than 40 individuals or groups recognised.
What was inspiring was the variety of activities and programmes people are involved in to make Papakura tick.
