The Trump administration has released a new batch of previously classified files, photographs, and videos relating to Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), claiming the disclosure marks the beginning of a major federal transparency effort surrounding unexplained aerial encounters and alleged extraterrestrial activity.
According to the White House, the material was released under President Donald Trump’s newly established Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE) initiative.
Officials say the program is designed to provide public access to long-hidden government records without requiring security clearances.
In a statement, the White House said:
“The latest UAP videos, photos, and original source documents from across the entire United States government are all in one place - no clearance required.”
The administration also stated:
“While past administrations sought to discredit or dissuade the American people, President Trump is focused on providing maximum transparency to the public, who can ultimately make up their own minds about the information contained in these files.”
Apollo mission material included in release
Among the newly released material are photographs reportedly taken during the Apollo 12 and Apollo 17 moon missions.
According to the article, one image captured from the lunar surface appears to show three bright unidentified objects in the sky above the moon.
The release also includes transcripts from Apollo 17 mission communications describing unusual objects drifting near the spacecraft.
One operator reportedly stated:
“Now we’ve got a few very bright particles or fragments or something that go drifting by as we maneuver.”
Another added:
“There’s a whole bunch of big ones on my window down there - just bright.”
A further comment described the scene as:
“It looks like the Fourth of July out of Ron’s window.”
The transcript continued:
“They’re very jagged, angular fragments that are tumbling.”
Star-like UFO video released
The files also include a video described as showing a “star-like” unidentified object maneuvering across the sky.
Transparency or controversy?
The release is expected to reignite public debate over UAP disclosures, extraterrestrial theories, and long-standing allegations that governments have withheld information regarding unexplained aerial phenomena.
Supporters of the initiative argue the disclosures represent an important step toward government transparency and accountability.
Critics, however, continue to question the interpretation of such material and whether the evidence conclusively demonstrates extraterrestrial involvement.
The administration has indicated additional releases may follow as part of the PURSUE initiative.
