A newly unsealed FBI document is fueling fresh questions about what the federal government may have known for decades regarding UFO encounters, extraterrestrial contact, and the mysterious deaths allegedly surrounding witnesses who spoke publicly about such incidents.

The 1967 memo, released Friday as part of President Donald Trump’s UFO transparency initiative, details claims from a young female informant who allegedly told federal officials she had direct contact with a being “from another planet.”
According to the memo, the woman feared she could be killed for revealing what she knew.
“She stated she fears for her life if it becomes known she contacted officials, as persons who saw UFOs have died mysteriously in the past,” the memo states.
The document is one of 162 newly unsealed FBI UFO-related files released under President Trump’s Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE) program.
Woman claimed alien assumed human form
According to the October 10, 1967 FBI memo, the unnamed woman claimed she encountered an extraterrestrial entity months earlier.
“She stated that in July 1967 she met with a being from another planet who assumed earthly form,” the memo reads.
The alleged being reportedly provided her with information regarding UFO activity before abruptly departing Earth.
“He gave her certain information, then was picked up and departed from earth.”
The memo further claims the woman later began receiving “messages from non-earthly sources.”
Among the information allegedly provided were claims involving earlier UFO incidents, including reports that a missile had been fired at a UFO over Africa in 1962.
According to the memo, the object allegedly survived because it was protected by a “force field.”
The document also referenced another reported UFO sighting over Antarctica in August 1967.
Trump administration opens UFO files to public
The release follows President Trump’s order earlier this year directing a broad declassification effort relating to UFOs, extraterrestrial phenomena, and unidentified anomalous objects.
According to the White House:
“The latest UAP videos, photos, and original source documents from across the entire United States government are all in one place - no clearance required.”
The administration also stated:
“While past administrations sought to discredit or dissuade the American people, President Trump is focused on providing maximum transparency to the public.”
The files are being released through a new Department of War portal at WAR.GOV/UFO.
Apollo mission files released
The FBI memo was not the only material included in Friday’s release.
The Trump administration also published photographs and communications transcripts from the Apollo 12 and Apollo 17 moon missions showing astronauts discussing unexplained objects drifting through space.
One photograph captured from the lunar surface reportedly shows three bright unidentified objects hovering above the moon.
Mission transcripts released alongside the images describe astronauts observing unusual tumbling objects outside their spacecraft.
“Now we’ve got a few very bright particles or fragments or something that go drifting by as we maneuver,” one operator reportedly stated.
Another added:
“There’s a whole bunch of big ones on my window down there - just bright.”
A further comment described the scene as:
“It looks like the Fourth of July out of Ron’s window.”
The transcript continued:
“They’re very jagged, angular fragments that are tumbling.”

Decades of secrecy under scrutiny
The newly released files are reigniting longstanding claims that federal agencies withheld significant UFO-related information from the public for decades.
For years, UFO witnesses were frequently dismissed by officials and mainstream media as unreliable or unstable.
The release of previously classified FBI files, NASA records, military documents, and communications transcripts is now intensifying demands for broader disclosure regarding unexplained aerial phenomena and alleged extraterrestrial encounters.
The Trump administration has indicated additional files, videos, and source material will continue to be released as declassification reviews progress.
