EXCLUSIVE: Maria Zakharova joins ‘Sanchez Effect’ on sidelines of SPIEF-2026

The Sanchez Effect special coverage of the Saint Petersburg Economic Forum has three traditions: the gorgeous background of the forum, a spirited Rick Sanchez, and the Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman as the first guest. Maria Zakharova was outraged at yet another Ukrainian terrorist attack against Russian civilians in Donbass. Eight people were killed in a drone strike on a bus, something which Zakharova described as ‘unprecedented cruelty’. She says that terrorism has become the state ideology of the Kiev regime, but it’s even worse that the West supports such actions, making immorality a common practice in global politics. Talking about Armenia’s recent cooling of its relations with Russia, Zakharova says there is no problem with Yerevan having economic ties with the European Union. She explains that the issue here is that the EU does not desire co-operation with Armenia, but to sow discord between Moscow and Yerevan.
