The image, shared on Trump's Truth Social platform, shows Meloni looking towards the US President with the caption:
"Restraining order needed."
The post appeared ahead of this week's NATO leaders' summit in Ankara, where the two leaders are expected to meet.

"The friendship between Italy and the United States is stronger than any controversy," Tajani said.
US Ambassador to Italy Tilman Fertitta also praised Meloni's leadership, saying she had done "an excellent job" as Prime Minister and helped Italy "become a global leader."
