Meet John: Discover Why Acacia Cove Feels More Like a Resort

A Place to Call Home

with Acacia Cove Village

Retirement should be about enjoying life, making new friends and having the freedom to do more of what you love. At Acacia Cove in Wattle Downs, residents are discovering that the next chapter can be one of the most rewarding.

For John, choosing Acacia Cove wasn't a decision made overnight. Having lived locally and experienced retirement villages throughout Auckland, he had a good understanding of what was available. But there was something about Acacia Cove that stood out.

"The reason why I chose Acacia Cove was because our family lived locally, and I'd been through a work experience in a number of villages all across the city, north, south, east, west, and we came here probably 10 years ago before we moved in, and we made the decision then," John explains.

It was a decision made with confidence, long before the actual move. For John, Acacia Cove offered the opportunity to remain connected to the community he knew while embracing a lifestyle designed around enjoyment, convenience and companionship.

More Living. Less Worry.

Who says getting older means you can't have even more fun?

At Acacia Cove, the philosophy is refreshingly simple. With much of the everyday upkeep taken care of, residents have more time to pursue their interests, enjoy the facilities, participate in activities and spend time with friends.

It's a lifestyle that combines the comfort and security of a welcoming community with the freedom to enjoy retirement on your own terms.

Whether it's joining a group activity, meeting friends or simply relaxing and enjoying the surroundings, the choice is yours.

It's retirement living with a resort-style difference.

Welcome Home

For Acacia Cove Director Amanda, helping new residents feel at home is at the heart of what makes the village special.

"So when people move here I hope they feel relaxed and relieved that they are finally here. I mean shifting is really hard and so that decision is difficult but when you're here I want you to feel that you've made the right decision and that you have come home."

Amanda understands that moving from a long-established family home is a significant life decision. It's not simply about finding somewhere new to live. It's about finding a place where you feel comfortable, welcomed and confident about the future.

And at Acacia Cove, that sense of belonging is something the team works to encourage from the moment a new resident arrives.

New Friends. New Experiences.

One of the greatest pleasures of village living is the opportunity to connect with others who share similar interests.

Bruce Cullington, Acacia Cove's General Manager, understands just how important those connections can be.

"It's relatively easy for new residents to come in and make new friends and join activities. For a start, many people have lived in the community for a long time anyway and have friends here already."

Bruce takes a personal interest in helping incoming residents settle into village life.

"During the sales process, I get quite a good feeling for what an incoming resident's interests are. Usually I'll try and connect them with the activity coordinators so that they can join in things quite quickly."

It's that personal approach that helps transform a new address into a genuine sense of community.

For some residents, it's an opportunity to reconnect with old friends. For others, it's the beginning of entirely new friendships and experiences.

See for Yourself

Photographs and videos can offer a glimpse of life at Acacia Cove, but nothing quite compares with experiencing the village in person.

A personal guided tour with General Manager Bruce Cullington provides an opportunity to explore the surroundings, discover the facilities, learn about the villas and apartments, and ask the questions that matter most to you.

There's no substitute for walking through a community, seeing how it feels and imagining what your own retirement lifestyle could look like.

And you don't have to make that discovery alone. Bring your partner, family member or a friend and enjoy exploring what Acacia Cove has to offer.
