PAPAKURA STREETFEST – SATURDAY 4TH OF MAY 10 AM TO 2 PM

We hope to see you all at our upcoming StreetFEST on Saturday 4th of May 2018

Free Family Fun Day with lots of stalls, community groups and initiatives, local entertainment, fun for the kids and activities, Facepainting, Chill Out Zone, great food specials and so much more. Check out the entertainment for the day:

TRUE BLUE POLICE EXHIBITION ON AT THE PAPAKURA MUSEUM:

“Papakura Museum presents True Blue: A History of the Papakura Police, an exhibition that explores the establishment and development of the Papakura Police. Stories and photographs take you on a journey through some of the cases the Police have worked on, struggles women faced when they entered the force, and ways the Police have moved with the times to serve Papakura. Open until end of May 2019”

MATARIKI IN PAPAKURA

Check out the awesome School competition Matariki Flags flying high down the Great South Road. Papakura Business Association and Papakura Local board ran a school art competition to produce new Matariki Flags to go up in the township. Our two winners are Sarah from Hingaia Peninsular School and Lockie from Te Hihi School whose art work will be produced into our flags for the town.

Check out all the great celebrations happening on Saturday 29th of June from 10 am to 3 pm at the Papakura Museum Foyer in Papakura with carving demonstrations, photographic and weaving exhibitions. Artists will be there showing their wares with pounamu, taniko and other art forms for sales and on stage performances by Local Kapa Haka groups and poi making workshops. Something for everyone on this day.

MOTHERS DAY 2019:

Don’t forget Mother’s Day on Sunday 12th of May and in Papakura you can take mum for breakfast, lunch or dinner or grab Mum some gorgeous flowers from our two florists in town, a voucher from one of the businesses here or shout her to get her nails done from our lovely nail salons, a Thai massage or beauty services from our massage places or beauty places – so many options and choices.

NEW BUSINESSES IN PAPAKURA:

We welcome The Denture Man, Crossroads psychology, Elim Christian Church and Brothers BBQ to our town.
