Logan Moffat: The Mind Is

Exhibition opening 6 November 2020 at Franklin Arts Centre

Franklin Arts Centre presents a significant solo exhibition by Pukekohe based artist Logan Moffat.

The exhibition offers a selection of portrait paintings created over three years. The Portraits are intended to capture the essence of the time we live in. Moffat understands his practice as consciousness painting. “The paintings are a reaction to the environment I inhabit, in the ‘real’ world and the digitally created ‘idealised’ one.”

From selfies, photo filters and virtual reality Moffat tackles digital culture and its impact on our lives head on. The exhibition asks viewers to question their perception of reality and how they feel about it in relation to themselves, others and their surroundings. Moffat’s challenge is for us to take a moment to look beneath the surface, question our perception of reality and to imagine new things.
