When the recent Master Builders Auckland and Coromandel awards were announced, Wenny Lubbers owner of Versatile Builders Pukekohe had every reason to be pleased. Not only did every entry that he showcased come away with an award, but his entry in the New Home $450,000 to $600,000 category won the team a coveted Gold Award for a high-quality personalized build that was completed in only 10 weeks!
The house, a four-bedroom two bathroom home in Tuakau was built from 43 prefabricated panels manufactured in Concision’s Rolleston factory over two days. They were then delivered to the Tuakau site and installed in a single day. Within 10 weeks it was finished and handed to the new owners who are delighted with their new home. This exciting new way of building offers a lot of advantages to sites where it is suited.
The owner had personalized their home and as well as including all the standard requirements, the home contains lots of extra features including a ventilation system, a sound system, a Louvretech verandah and extra insulation.
“This build was just amazing, the quality is high, the technology cutting edge, and the result is happier clients in less time. There is a perception that things built quickly will not be as good as quality, but the quality of this build is exceptional, you only have to look at the Gold Award it has just won to see that,” enthuses Wenny.
Wenny has been involved in Versatile Pukekohe since 2010 and the owner of the business since 2020. As a qualified carpenter, he also has a Bachelor in Building Environment giving him a balanced and measured approach to his projects. His considerable experience in many high-end projects in both the Netherlands and New Zealand are evident in the approach both he and his team have when talking about what it is like to become a Versatile client.
“At Versatile, every client is treated as we would treat a family member when we build. We know that they don’t want to be waiting longer than they need to. Or having to make sacrifices that are unreasonable because of a delay in permits or supplies. We are honest with our clients about our expectations about what they can achieve with everything from their section, what they want in a home, their budget right through to timeframe. If something goes wrong, we will fix it, to the standards needed. But I have to say, that doesn’t happen very often because we know our processes work and our team is exceptional at what they do.”
With levels moving yet again down from Lockdown, now is the perfect time to research building companies and Wenny invites calls and emails from anyone contemplating a build. He would love to share what Versatile can do, whether it be the modular 10 week completion build or more traditional building practices.
“Building is my passion; I love helping people understand what we can do to help them achieve their building dream and perhaps even suggest things they hadn’t even thought of that will make their new home totally Versatile in every sense of the word,” smiles Wenny.
