Alistair Harding,
The filmmaker behind We Came Here for Freedom is Alistair Harding. A New Zealander by birth, Alistair spent much of his working career in Asia, where he began making short documentaries in Singapore, Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia as well as longer films for National Geographic, History Channel and corporate clients. His first feature film, ‘The Sea Decides’, was featured at the 2021 DocEdge Film Festival as well as other festivals in Denmark and Portugal. Alistair shot, wrote, and edited ‘We Came Here for Freedom’ over a period of about two years, including the events prior to the Freedom Convoy and protest in February 2022.
